Day in the Garden
Last Sunday I spent the afternoon with mom, my sister, and our kids at the Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden. It is a great place to enjoy a sunny afternoon and take some photographs of flowers and plants. I especially enjoy the Orchid Conservatory. The kids love the fountains, of course. They have to put their hands in each and every one.

Birthdays
I celebrate my birthday this month, though I can't say that I really look forward to birthdays anymore. I usually get some cards and a dinner out. Or sometimes I opt for a big breakfast because I LOVE breakfast and we rarely eat breakfast out. I'm always willing to chow down on pancakes!
My niece Gabby recently celebrated her 8th birthday. Her party reminded me of the parties we had when I was a kid. There are so many themes for parties now; princess, equestrian, pottery painting, and of course the bounce house places. They can be fun and convenient, but everything is so rushed to fit within the time alloted. We did not have those choices growing up, so usually it was cake, games and maybe a pinata.
I enjoyed watching Gabby and her friends blowing bubbles, drawing with chalk and bouncing a ball to each other. Simple, fun and not rushed. The kids seemed to enjoy it!
