Looking Up

We have very thick woods behind our house and I really enjoy watching them change with the seasons. The best thing about the summer is the sunset has a golden color, and as it goes down behind the trees it creates these beautiful pockets of light filtering through the leaves. I love to stand below the leaves and look up to see how they glow from the sun, with all the veins and patterns visible.

The Sounds of Summer

Well, school is officially out and the sounds of summer have begun. By sounds I don't mean the crickets, frogs and other noisy critters. I mean the sounds of laughter, giggles and screaming, the doorbell ringing, the tv blasting, thundering footsteps outside in the yard and doors opening and closing (or should I say slamming).

Jeremy has become fast friends with three sisters, Alex, Kristina and Brianna, that have been visiting one of our neighbors, Kaitlin. They are all sweet, outgoing, full of energy and lots of giggles. We took the sisters to the park the other evening and to get Slurpies. The energy is non-stop. And what is it with kids and piggy-back rides? Poor Jeremy had to tote around all three, but he was fine with it. I think he was showing off just a little.
